Structural Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a licensed Structural Project Engineer with design building experience. The successful candidate will have experience with numerous building materials: concrete (mild reinforced and post-tensioned), structural steel, masonry, wood and light gage material.
  • Develop code compliant structural design plans by researching, analyzing, and applying engineering concepts and design criteria.
  • Perform feasibility studies by studying project concepts, objectives, and requirements.
  • Perform designs by building and testing computer models and verify with hand calculations.
  • Perform field assessments. Collecting data needed to complete project tasks.
  • Performing design calculations for structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, wood, light-gage metal, wood, and foundation structures using the latest Codes and Standards.
  • Perform compliance inspections and tests.
  • Resolve construction problems related to structural design.
  • Coordinate and confer with contractors.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers with labor estimates for generating proposals and change orders.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing structural engineering data and trends.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University. 
  • Master’s degree from accredited university or program a plus.
  • 4+ years of Structural Engineering and Design experience.
  • Working knowledge of IBC code. AASHTO knowledge a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of ADAPT PT, PS Column, ETABS, Bentley Elements, SAP2000 or similar.
  • Professional license, SE or PE in Nevada or in another state, with commensurate and applicable experience. SE License in California preferred.
  • Candidate should be proactive, motivated, goal oriented and possess time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Junior Structural Engineer
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to aid in developing structural design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting and applying structural engineering concepts and design criteria and evaluating structural options developed by senior engineering staff. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with field assessments under the direct supervision of Sr. Project Manager or senior staff.
  • Perform design calculations for structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, wood, light-gage metal, foundation structures using the latest Codes and Standards.
  • Provide support in the verification of designs by building and testing models. Analyze test data.
  • Identify, isolate and resolve problems under the direction of senior staff.
  • Aid in the verification of structures by performing compliance inspections and tests. Resolve construction problems related to structural design.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing structural engineering data and trends.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University. 
  • Master’s degree from accredited university or program a plus.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Working towards acquiring the Professional Engineering or Structural Engineering licensure.
  • Computer software experience/knowledge: ADAPT PT, PS Column, ETABS, Bentley Elements, SAP2000 or similar, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, programming language and AUTOCAD.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software.
  • Driven to improve technical ability to keep with current engineering practices.

CAD Manager
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to utilize AutoCAD to produce preliminary and final structural drawings and construction sequence drawings. In this role you will review structural engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to specifications and standards, you will be in charge of the development and maintenance of specification and standards as well as performing QC checks on final drawings to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Instruct Designer/ Draftsmen to ensure all work is well represented. Review that all work is done per established specifications and standards.
  • Source of the specifications and standards.
  • Make sure everything is properly electronically filed.
  • In charge of keeping the archive folders updated.
  • Make sure the drafting responsibilities of projects are completed on time and budget.
  • Supervise the Designers.
  • Transforming initial rough product design using computer aided design into working documents.
  • Accompany engineers on site visits or perform alone, to create as-builts as required.
  • Implementation of detail libraries in coordination with the Designers. Development of Innova Standards.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School education plus 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s Degree, a plus.
  • Candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Software, Database Software (a plus).
  • Knowledge of programming language.
  • Land Development and 3D rendering abilities.
  • Applicant must be self-motivated and energetic.

Structural Drafter
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to utilize AutoCAD to produce preliminary and final structural drawings and construction sequence drawings.   • Prepare sets of preliminary drawings with foundation plans, framing plans, detail sheets, general notes based on architectural drawings and present the product for the engineer to complete the design.

  • Review structural engineering drawings and design to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Implement detail libraries in coordination with the CAD Manager. Assist the CAD Manager in the development of Innova Standards.
  • Assist the CAD Manager in developing standards and standardize sheets for other team members to use to simplify interface.
  • Maintain and improve technical practices and procedures and continue to provide the exemplary level of service required of this position at our firm.
  • Alert engineer/CAD Manager of any changes to the backgrounds prepared by others.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School education plus 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s Degree, a plus.
