Structural Project Engineer - Transportation

We are currently seeking a licensed Structural Project Engineer with design bridge experience. The successful candidate will have experience with building materials such as concrete (mild reinforced and post-tensioned), and structural steel.
  • Develop code compliant structural design plans by researching, analyzing, and applying engineering concepts and design criteria.
  • Perform feasibility studies by studying project concepts, objectives, and requirements.
  • Perform designs by building and testing computer models and verify with hand calculations.
  • Perform field assessments. Collecting data needed to complete project tasks.
  • Perform design calculations using the latest codes and standards.
  • Perform compliance inspections and tests.
  • Resolve construction problems related to structural design.
  • Coordinate and confer with contractors.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers with labor estimates for generating proposals and change orders.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing structural engineering data and trends.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University. 
  • Master’s degree from accredited university or program a plus.
  • 4+ years of Structural Engineering and Design experience.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO.
  • Working knowledge of ADAPT PT, Bentley Elements, SAP2000 or similar.
  • Professional license, SE or PE in Nevada or in another state, with commensurate and applicable experience. SE License in California preferred.
  • Candidate should be proactive, motivated, goal oriented and possess time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to aid in developing structural design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting and applying structural engineering concepts and design criteria and evaluating structural options developed by senior engineering staff. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with field assessments under the direct supervision of Sr. Project Manager or senior staff.
  • Perform design calculations for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation structures using the latest Codes and Standards.
  • Provide support in the verification of designs by building and testing models. Analyze test data.
  • Identify, isolate and resolve problems under the direction of senior staff.
  • Aid in the verification of structures by performing compliance inspections and tests. Resolve construction problems related to structural design.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing structural engineering data and trends.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University. 
  • Master’s degree from accredited university or program a plus.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Working towards acquiring the Professional Engineering or Structural Engineering licensure.
  • Computer software experience/knowledge: ADAPT PT, PS Column, ETABS, Bentley Elements, SAP2000 or similar, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, programming language and AUTOCAD.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software.
  • Driven to improve technical ability to keep with current engineering practices.

Structural Project Engineer - Non-Transportation
We are currently seeking a licensed Structural Project Manager with bridge experience. The successful candidate will have experience with building materials such as concrete (mild reinforced and post-tensioned), and structural steel.
  • Responsible for setting-up communication on a project with the client, contractor, and inner-office staff.
  • Set up controls for project scope, risk, building codes, and other trades.
  • Coordinate/Assign staff to meet schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for the technical quality of the job.
  • Assure conformance with project scope and local codes.
  • Resolve comments from client or reviewing agency.
  • Resolve field issues, RFI responses, NCR Responses, etc.
  • Project close-out reporting.
  • Training of Engineers and Draftsmen.
  • Sets expectations and establishes performance standards for staff.
  • Coaches/Evaluates staff performance and provides regular feedback on work performance.
  • Market new and existing clients under direction of Principal.
  • Meets monthly sales goals.
  • Review of invoices for responsible projects.
  • Review all timesheets for correctness related to assigned projects.
