We are thrilled to share some incredible news about one of our esteemed colleagues, Luis Placeres, who has achieved a significant milestone in his research career. It is with great pride and excitement that we announce Luis' remarkable accomplishment at the 8th World Congress on Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering (CSEE 2023).
After expanding his master's degree thesis project into a comprehensive paper, Luis and his team proposed a groundbreaking new method for simultaneous signal propagation of both vertical and horizontal waves. This unique approach sets their research apart from any other program currently available in the field.
Following months of diligent effort and exceptional results, their paper caught the attention of their peers in Italy. They were encouraged to submit their work to the prestigious CSEE 2023, where leading researchers gather to peer-review and recognize outstanding contributions. We are delighted to announce that Luis' paper was not only accepted but also received funding for their attendance and participation in the congress.
Dr. Claudia Germoso, Luis' thesis advisor and the lead researcher of the project, represented their team at the congress held in Portugal. Over the course of several days of presentation and rigorous evaluation, their paper stood out among the best. We are thrilled to share that Luis' paper was awarded the esteemed "Best Paper" accolade, a true testament to his exceptional research skills and the impact of his findings.
