I-405 & Sepulveda Transit Corridor

Addressing one of the most congested freeway stretches in the United States, this study explored high-capacity alternatives to connect the San Fernando Valley and Westside. Innova provided the preliminary alignment and structural design for the monorail proposal options using the BYD SkyRail vehicle. Three different alignments were studied for the 15-mile corridor along I-405 from the Expo Line in the south, over the Sepulveda Pass, to the Van Nuys Metrolink Station in the Valley. Ultimately LA Metro along with public input opted for the underground rail proposal option.
